Jo Ann Warren's Biography
I began studying Iyengar Method of Hatha Yoga in 1992 to deal with hip problems. I thought I was going to need surgery, but was able to heal myself through my yoga practice.
I am now a certified Iyengar instructor through the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the U.S. studies I am a dedicated yoga student and practitioner, and regularly attend workshops and teacher trainings with senior level Iyengar instructors.I continue to study regularly with Joan White, Patricia Walden, Manuso Manos and Stephanie Quirk. All of these teachers are Certified Iyengar
Yoga Teachers who visit India annually, and
bring back to me the teachings of BKS Iyengar and his daughter Geeta. Nutritionaly , I am a vegetarian and I understand nutrition and enjoy providing insight in this area for students who are interested in nutrition.
Massage Therapy , Reflexology are two other modialites in which I hold a liscense. These fields have helped to improve my knowledge of anatomy, physiology, holistic health, and increased body awareness ,
This knowledge has contributed to my ability to provide personalized instruction.
I'm committed to yoga because of the profound effect yoga has on my own physical, mental, and emotional health
